Drawing inspiration from vintage maps, and the notion of terroir that is so important to wine culture, I started to develop a series of fictional and abstract topographies looking for a style and a vibe we could work with.
Once the style was set, it made sense for the final imagery to be drawn from an aerial image of the area where the winery is located in Napa Valley, California.
Here are the explorations of the illustrations applied to the top capsule of the bottle, to carry that imagery across from the label to the cap.
